Police seek information in murder at Lorenzi Park

Secret Witness is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information regarding the murder of Marco Antonio Valadez, 18, in the basketball courts at Lorenzi Park.

Valadez was shot multiple times with a semiautomatic pistol about 9:45 p.m. Friday after a fight broke out between a group of gang members playing soccer and another group of gang members playing basketball, police said.

Metro Police homicide Sgt. Ken Hefner said Valadez was not affiliated with a gang, but that Joshua Muniz, 18, who was booked into Clark County Detention Center the next afternoon for Valadez's murder, is a gang member.
