Graduation ceremonies continue through Thursday

The end of mandatory public education is finally here for about 7,000 Clark County high school seniors.

Graduation ceremonies, which began last week, will continue through Thursday. Here is a schedule of the remaining commencement ceremonies. Unless otherwise noted, all events will be at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV.

* Today: Silverado, 6:30 p.m. Cimarron-Memorial, Bonanza and Eldorado had ceremonies earlier in the day.

* Tuesday: Vo-Tech, 9:30 a.m.; Durango, 12:30 p.m.; Western, 3:30 p.m.; Clark, 6:30 p.m.; and Indian Springs, 7 p.m. at Indian Springs High School.

* Wednesday: Chey enne, 9:30 a.m.; Green Valley, 12:30 p.m.; Basic, 3:30 p.m.; Chaparral, 6:30 p.m.; Laughlin, 8 p.m. at Laughlin High School; and Community College High School, 7 p.m. at Las Vegas Academy.

* Thursday: Horizon, Sunset and adult education alternative high schools, 10 a.m.; Rancho, 1 p.m.; Valley, 4 p.m. and Las Vegas, 7 p.m.

Ceremonies were held Wednesday for foreign exchange students at the Las Vegas Academy, Area Technical Trade Center, Variety and Virgin Valley high schools.

Advanced Technologies Academy, Moapa Valley and Helen J. Stewart students graduated Thursday, and Boulder City and Las Vegas Academy graduation ceremonies were held Friday.
