The School Board unanimously approved recommendations by the Bond Oversight Committee to site six new schools.
The board voted Thursday to site four new elementary schools, one middle school and one high school.
The southwest section of the valley will get one middle school and one high school in the vicinity south of Spring Mountain Road and west of Rainbow Boulevard, and one elementary school south of Sahara Avenue and west of Interstate 15.
An elementary school will also be located in the following areas: in the northwest, north of Craig Road and west of Decatur Boulevard; in the east, west of Nellis Boulevard and east of Maryland Parkway; and in the southeast, south of Russell Road and east of Arroyo Grande Boulevard.
All of the elementary schools and the one middle school are scheduled to open for the 1999-2000 school year. The high school is scheduled to open for the 2000-2001 school year.
