Airport traffic up .8 percent over last year

"McCarran International remains one of the busiest U.S. airports in terms of passenger traffic," said Randall H. Walker, aviation department director.

A total of 2,511,234 passengers traveled through McCarran in June, a .1 percent increase over the same month last year. Approximately 800 daily flights arrived and departed from McCarran.

U.S. Airways leads the major airlines in passenger growth with a 21.3 percent increase from the same period last year, followed by Continental at 7.1 percent.
