Letter: NLV’s new mayor lauded for taking on salary issue
Thursday, July 24, 1997 | 9:37 a.m.
The City Council has routinely "passed the buck" when it comes to making prudent decisions on the salaries and benefits of city employees. While our older neighborhoods have been falling apart, our children go without parks, and crime is on the rise, city employees receive remarkably generous salaries and benefits that many of us will only dream of.
Maybe with Mr. Montandon in there the city will finally have the guts to get this salary thing under control and put this town on the right path. We can afford the change.
