Board likes idea of restoring wetlands

While board members voted unanimously to support the Argenta marsh proposal, they added it was not their place to lead the restoration effort at this point.
"This is a golden opportunity," said board chairman Joel Lenz. "It would be tough to turn it down."
Voters in 1990 approved $47 million in bond for Nevada Division of Wildlife and state parks projects and purchases.
State wildlife officials said about $3 million remans in the agency's acquisition fund with another $800,000 for habitat improvement projects.
The state Wildlife Commission gathers public input on proposed projects and a legislative finance committee decides which ones to fund.
