Letter: Legislators should rate blood-sucking lobbyists
Saturday, July 19, 1997 | 11:23 a.m.
Kudos and congrats to Assembly members Mark Manendo, D-Las Vegas; Bernie Anderson, D-Sparks; Vivian Freeman, D-Reno; Sandra Tiffany, R-Henderson; and Chris Giunchigliani, D-Las Vegas.
These legislators were chosen the 10 worst senators and Assembly members by Nevada lobbyists. This means these 10 people were doing their jobs and representing the people who elected them. Gosh, these people just won't sit up and beg to the lobbyists.
But turnabout is fair play, and I think the legislators should be allowed to rate the lobbyists and publish the results in the SUN.
Perhaps they could lump them in different categories such as: Most Vicious Bloodsucker, Most Voracious Bloodsucker, Most Effete Bloodsucker, Most Insidious Bloodsucker and Best Bottom Feeder.
I urge these 10 people to clip out this letter and paste it up for all to see. I'm sure there are thousands of Nevadans who feel the same about lobbyists.
