He is survived by his wife, Helen Genelle Hagood Fortson; two sons, Charles G. Fortson of Las Vegas, and Eddie E. Fortson of Ladson, S.C.; one daughter, Vickie L. Tipton of Summerville; one brother, Jack Fortson of Walhalla; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
No local services are scheduled. Parks Funeral Home Inc., Summerville, is handling arrangements.
