Couple arrested on drug trafficking charges

A North Las Vegas couple was arrested and charged with trafficking drugs after police confiscated a half kilo of cocaine from their residence.

Also confiscated during a Wednesday raid of the couple's house at 2905 Bassler St. was a .38-caliber pistol.

Morgan Shelby, 50, was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance. Ora Lee Peterson, 34, was charged with trafficking cocaine and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

A search warrant was served by Metro's SWAT team, along with members of the Weed and Seed Task Force comprised of officers from Metro and North Las Vegas Police and FBI agents.
