Summit organizers and Nevada Sen. Harry Reid's office on Thursday confirmed that Clinton's portion of the two-day summit will be held at the Lakeside Lodge at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Incline Village on the Nevada side of the lake.
Clinton is scheduled to arrive in Nevada on July 26.
Vice President Al Gore will meet with local and regional leaders on July 25 at the U.S. Forest Service visitors center near South Lake Tahoe, Calif. He will join Clinton the next day at the Incline Village session.
Schedules and details of the summit will not be released until next week, summit organizers said.
The last of three workshops to outline issues for the summit will be held Saturday in Reno.
Reid, fellow Nevada Sen. Richard Bryan, and Transportation Secretary Rodney Slater will host the workshop that is to focus on transportation issues.
Previous workshops focused on water quality, tourism and the health of the forests that ring the Tahoe Basin.
Lake Tahoe, touted as the crowned jewel of the Sierra, straddles the Nevada-California line.
Environmentalists, state, local and regional authorities hope the summit will heighten awareness of the lake's many environmental problems and aid in acquiring federal assistance for environmental programs.
Experts say the mountain lake's famed clarity is losing about a foot each year because of erosion and algae growth.
