Letter: Metro shows its true colors in helping officer
Thursday, Jan. 30, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.
The loss of Metro police officer Erik Bond is no exception. My sympathy pours out to his wife, daughter and family.
I pray that some good comes of this. Today, Erik is resting in peach where there's all love and not hate.
We are living our lives in an environment of too much hate and criticism.
There are a few that delight in making negative remarks aimed at police and mainly the Metro police. Granted, there have been several incidents that should not have transpired. Keep in mind, the police are only human. They have some bad apples as do all other operations that employ people.
I hope you read Karen Zekan's article in the Jan. 21 SUN. Eric's fellow officers donated their vacation time and sick leave so the Bonds could maintain their insurance coverage.
Let me ask of you who are so critical of the police. Can you place yourselves among this elite group of people -- the Metro police?
