Himmler has 2 perfect games

The 23-year-old Himmler, who has a 2,955 pinfall total for 16 games, has a 214-pin lead over Walter Ray Williams Jr. of Stockton, Calif., the reigning IOF/PBA Player of the Year. Himmler is averaging 246 and is seeking his first PBA title.
Williams had a total pinfall of 2,741 and is averaging 228 for the tournament. He earned five titles on the tour last year.
Amleto Monacelli, who was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame last week, is looking for his first win in the United States since 1994 (Lexington, Ky.). Monacelli, from Barquisimeto, Venezuela, is averaging 226 and has a total pinfall of 2,720.
Steve Hoskins of Tarpon Springs, Fla., moved up from eighth to fourth in the evening block as scores fell. Hoskins won the Comfort Inn Classic last year and is a former PBA Rookie of the Year (1989). He has a total pinfall of 2,705 and an average of 225.
Rounding out the top-five is relative unknown Bill Guthrie of Winter Park, Fla., who is averaging 224 and has a 2,696 pinfall total.
