Scattered snow in Reno forecast; deep freeze to thaw
Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.
Accumulations varied from 1-2 inches in Gardnerville 50 miles south of Reno, to a powdering through Washoe Valley to nary a flake in Reno proper.
The National Weather Service said the system was not expected to produce an abundance of snow, but could linger through Wednesday.
On the bright side, the deep freeze that descended on the region Sunday was expected to begin thawing.
Highs today in the Reno area were expected to nudge the freezing mark, rising to the upper 30s by Thursday.
