Convention Authority backs bill banning adult entertaiment ads

The authority is supporting a Clark County ordinance which would ban "off premises canvassing" - or passing out fliers advertising businesses.
The target of the ordinance is promoters of adult entertainment businesses such as outcall services, strippers and escort services.
Tourists and local residents have complained of the hawkers, who thrust adult-oriented material into the hands of people walking along the Strip and around the city's convention center.
The ordinance would bar off-premises canvassing on the grounds that handbill distributors often block the sidewalk, forcing pedestrians to walk in the street, and that discarded fliers create litter.
The ordinance is scheduled to go before the Clark County Commission on Tuesday.
