Giovanni to give benefit concert

"An Evening With Giovanni," a benefit concert for UNLV's music department and the Las Vegas Music Festival Orchestra will be at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at Artemus Ham Hall.
Joining Giovanni for this evening of music will be members of the UNLV choirs and orchestra, members of the Las Vegas Music Festival Orchestra, and many other Las Vegas professional musicians. The opening act will be the African group Moudi Cabalou.
Giovanni Marradi is the son of a renowned Italian orchestra leader, Alfredo Marradi, and great-grandson of the well-known poet after whom he was named. A composer, arranger and performer, Giovanni has toured extensively and headlines regularly in Las Vegas.
Giovanni has won numerous awards for his TV shows. He has a series with Warner Bros. International Television Distribution and can be seen more than 30 foreign countries.
Sponsorships for this event are still available. Sponsoring of $150 and up entitles patrons to two tickets of the best seats in the house, two complimentary drinks before the concert, and a special mention in the program.
A $250 sponsorship and up entitles patrons to an additional two invitations to the VIP wine and cheese party following the concert where guests will be able to meet Giovanni in person. The UNLV Jazz Combo Uno will entertain during the wine and cheese party.
A $500-and-up sponsorship includes a transferable ad in the program, and $1,000 and up includes free tickets to all of the UNLV College of Performing Arts events for the calendar year.

Although the concert begins at 7:30 p.m., the public is urged to arrive early for cocktails and the chance to bid on the numerous items and services in a silent auction.
The UNLV Student Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet and String Quartet will provide background music during the silent auction. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and parking is free for this event.
