Friday, Jan. 10, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.
A multi-agency search was underway for Maureen McAllister, 41, who is the wife of a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper. An aerial search began at dawn.
Deputies said she left the Jackpot school around 3 p.m. Thursday, but failed to show up at her home in Metropolis near Wells, some 70 miles away.
She was driving a dark green four-door 1996 Dodge Neon, license plate number 616 FAW.
Family and friends said they had no reason to believe McAllister's disappearance was voluntary.
McAllister is described as being 5-foot-4 with light brown hair.
