Notes: Stankowski, 27, won with a birdie on the par-5 18th after holing a 30-foot birdie putt on the par-4 10th to extend the playoff to a fourth hole. He also won the 1996 Bell South Classic in a playoff, topping Brandel Chamblee with a birdie on the first extra hole. The former Texas-El Paso player won the tour's unofficial Kapalua International in Hawaii last November. ... Furyk, who won last year's tournament in a three-hole playoff with Brad Faxon, four-putted for a double-bogey on No. 15 to lose the lead. ... Reid, 42, is winless since the 1988 World Series of Golf.

Notes: Myers, who also won the 1988 Mayflower Classic, has fought a long battle against a bladder disease that led her to the brink of suicide four years ago. The 34-year-old began using an experimental drug two years ago that cleared her of the symptoms of interstitial cystitis. She began crying on the 16th hole and choked back tears in the press room as she talked about the disease, which she said made it necessary to use the bathroom some 60 times a day and 20 a night. ... Sorenstam won the Tournament of Champions in the Swedish star's only other start this year.

Lonard, who parred the second extra hole for his first professional victory, leads the Australasian tour money list with $346,496. ... Tiger Woods tied for eighth at 283, shooting 68-70-72-73. He is scheduled to return to the PGA Tour in two weeks for the Nissan Open in Los Angeles. ... Larry Mize also finished at 283.

Jack Nicklaus, the 1996 winner, tied for 23rd at 1-over 214 with rounds of 71, 72 and 71.
