Letter: Most Argentines hated, not adored, legendary Eva Peron: The first day, we stepped off the ship and could not imagine what was wrong. Everyone we passed would stop dead and just stare hatefully and not move until we were out of sight. Questioning the ship people, we were told I was the image of "Dear Eve" and they were afraid there might be trouble. I was instructed never to be alone. She had just been buried, and the government never wanted the public to know where.

Letter: No-fault divorces are best solution to problem: Sometimes a marriage degrades into a destructive union of two antagonists, making the initiator the deliverer of merciful termination, just like in other real-life contracts where certain partnerships are no longer productive.

Letter: SUN columnist had useful information on health care: Again, thank you for educating us on the issues and changes that may affect the way I and my family receive health care in the future.

Letter: Schools rewarding poor performance: For the rest of us: the students who are striving for success; the students who are passing their classes the first time they take them; the straight A students; the Honors students; the AP students; a fee is required to be paid during the summer in order to take classes such as the World History Honors class if we wish to free up more elective space during the course of the regular school year. In the meantime, those students who have either failed a class or had to drop it during the course of the year due to excessive absences ...

Commentary: Why take kids from grandmother?: Why were the children, ages 9, 5 and 2, brought back to Las Vegas to be placed in Child Haven?

Letter: Commandant pledges end to Marine blood pinning: My policy for the treatment of marines is also clear. All Marines will be treated with the utmost dignity and respect. There is no place for hazing, sexual harassment, discrimination, or any other form of degrading or immoral behavior in the Corps. No part of what makes the United States Marine Corps the world's premier fighting force has ever relied on brutality. These action are anathema to our core values of honor, courage, and commitment, and those who cannot live these basic moral tenets do not deserve to wear the Eagle, Globe and Anchor.

Letter: Stratosphere Tower would be a great valleywide mister: Engineers simply need to run a water main up through the center and right out the top of the Big SHot, hook it up to a high-speed rotating sprinkler and use high-powered air blasts to create a valleywide hydro-mist which gently washes the carbon monoxide, dust particles and Bob Stupak into the concrete pavement below.
