The Clark County Safe Communities and Safe Kids Coalition's Kids Safety Day is set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Department of Motor Vehicles parking lot, 8250 W. Flamingo Road.
The event is being held in the wake of a survey by the organization finding that Clark County lags behind the rest of the country in the proper use of child safety seats.
The survey found that seat usage in Clark County was 36.8 percent for toddlers while the national average is 65 percent, and 70.3 percent for infants while the national average is 95 percent.
As part of the event there will be child safety seat inspections, safety demonstrations and related displays. Child safety seat inspections also will be conducted at the DMV at 4021 W. Carey Ave.
