The Pendragons making month-long appearance at Caesars’ Empire
Friday, Feb. 7, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.
Illusionists Jonathan and Charlotte Pendragon are headlining the Sultan's Palace Theatre at Caesars Magical Empire through March 9.
This magical duo, famous for their speed and grace, have starred in numerous televised network productions, including their own 1995 Disney Channel all-star television special and "A Gala for the President," filmed for network television at Ford Theatre in Washington, D.C.
They also have toured extensively throughout the world. They were the first U.S. magicians to tour China. They also performed before the queen of England in the 1995 Royal Variety Performance.
The Pendragons have created many original acts of illusion, such as their 360-degree levitation, named "Arial," which has Charlotte Pendragon floating in mid-air and rotating around Jonathan. Their signature is the "Metamorphosis" illusion, the instantaneous transposition of two people, as shown in the 1996 television special "The World's Greatest Magic III." Another illusion is the sawing-in-half routine using a clear Plexiglas box.
Caesars Magical Empire is a multichambered wonderland that presents mystery, fine dining and grand-scale illusions in a surrounding reminiscent of ancient Rome. The facility features 10 dining chambers of the gods, Sultan's Palace theater, Secret Pagoda theater, two seance rooms, Grotto Bar, Spirit Bar, Forbidden Crypt, Sanctum Secorum rotunda and Caesars Magical Empire store.
Caesars Magical Empire tickets, which include a three-course dinner in one of the chambers of gods and two theater performances, as well as use of all facilities within Caesars Magical Empire, are $75 per person, plus a $2.50 handling fee. A $10 discount is available for early or late dining. Reservations are available up to 30 days in advance by calling 731-7333.
