Friday, Dec. 26, 1997 | 8:33 a.m.
The youth, whose name was not released, was working at a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant on the city's north side when he stepped into the parking lot to take a smoke break.
Witnesses said a man approached on a bicycle and the two started arguing.
As the teen-ager started to walk away, the assailant brandished a gun and shot him in the back of the head.
The teen was taken to University Medical Center where he was placed on life support. He died several hours later, according to a nursing supervisor.
Police say they want to question Danilo Legaspi, 36, concerning the attack. No warrants have been issued.
