Letter: Let Bosnia decide its own fate — without U.S., allies

Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997 | 10:48 a.m.

His speech attempted to place a positive light on the subject by telling us that our European "allies" have 10 percent more of this, 3 percent more of that, 5 percent more of something else in Bosnia, compared to our insignificant participation.

He neglected to inform us how many nations make up those percentages. As usual a lie -- withdrawal dates -- is covered up by another lie -- we won't act as policemen in that country. Why don't they just arrest those responsible for the recent war and let the Balkan people once again decide their own fate?
