Las Vegas Events pulls Classic money
Tuesday, Dec. 23, 1997 | 12:35 p.m.
Las Vegas Events, one of the main sponsors of the Reebok Holiday Prep Classic, announced Monday it will no longer be contributing $50,000 annually to the event.
That loss of cash could mean the end of the tournament. Las Vegas Events' contributions helps recruit schools from around the country, enticing teams by paying for their room and board.
The Reebok Holiday Prep Classic has three options: It can try to find another sponsor and keep the tournament as it is, downsize the event or cancel it altogether. A decision on the tournament's future will be made early next year.
