Prep: Boy’s and Girls basketball notes

Girls' basketball
Amy Roban scored 26 points, Tiff Touton 19 and Paige Sutton 13 as Bishop Gorman moved to 5-1 on the season with a 85-63 win over Virgin Valley. The Gaels led 40-29 at the half and cruised.
Chaparral had little trouble with Rancho, rolling to a 68-21 victory. Krystal Turner scored 15 points and Kayla Shambaugh added 13 for the Cowboys, who led 36-16 at halftime.
Boys' basketball
Bonanza raced to a 21-8 lead after one quarter and downed Silverado, 66-42. Marcus Brown scored 20 points for the Bengals and Robert Gatling added 19. Louis Brown chipped in 10 points.
Three Gorman players hit double figures in a 90-37 pasting of Virgin Valley. Jason VanMeetren led the way with 15 points, Darrell Ewell scored 12 and Dinard Taylor 10 to pace the Gaels.
