The purpose of the forum is to examine and make recommendations on ways to help the state's elderly.
At the forum's first meeting next year it will submit a report to the governor of suggestions for bills to present to the 1999 Legislature.
Clark County forum members are: Bradford Benson, Boulder City; Ruby Garland, North Las Vegas; Rose Raphael, Henderson; and George Gericke, Leo Johnson, Patricia Wilson and Elizabeth M. Coffman Childers, all of Las Vegas.
Other Las Vegans appointed to the forum were Fred McClellon, Roger Owen, Mary Allred, Pauline Goldmann, William Evans and Maffy Forrester.
The governor also named Virginia Cain, N'Lay Louise Norby, Shirley Legoy, Karol McCellon, all of Washoe County; Rosemary Smith of Carson City; Wanda Blohm of Pahrump; Charles Knight of Elko; and John Amundson of Minden.
There is a minimum of one representative from each Senate district on and the forum must be bi-partisan.
To be eligible for appointment to the forum, a member must be at least 60 years old; a Nevada resident for at least five years; and a registered voter in the Senate district for at least three years prior to the appointment.
