A predawn fire today in an apartment that was being used to store materials to renovate surrounding units caused $20,000 damage.
Las Vegas and Clark County Fire Department firefighters were called at 5:47 a.m. to the Aladdin Villa Apartments at 2409 Tam Drive, just north of Sahara Avenue east of Industrial Road. They saw heavy flames coming from a ground-floor apartment of the two-story, wood-frame stucco building.
There were no injuries.
Damage was confined to one of the 10 units in the building. Inside the charred vacant apartment was carpeting, air conditioning units and other building materials, officials said.
The cause of the blaze was undetermined. The fire remains under investigation.
