Planning commission denies permit for hotel’s proposed thrill ride

Tom Schrade, co-owner of Sky High Thrill Rides, had requested the permits to erect a 180-foot tall, swing-like ride in front of the hotel-casino.
But planning commissioners said the ride does not fit in with surrounding development. They also expressed concern that it could distract motorists on nearby U.S. 395.
Schrade can appeal the denial to the City Council.
