Strohmeyer to provide hair, saliva samples

Attorneys for 19-year-old Jeremy Strohmeyer did not object Monday to the order for the samples, which investigators hope will further tie him to the death of Sherrice Iverson at the Primm Valley hotel-casino, on the Nevada-California border 45 miles southeast of Las Vegas.
District Attorney Stewart Bell explained that the handwriting sample is necessary to prove that a purported suicide note found in Strohmeyer's Long Beach home was written by the high school honor student.
The saliva sample, Bell said, will be tested against samples taken from cigarette butts found in the restroom.
Strohmeyer is scheduled to stand trial April 20 in District Judge Don Chairez's courtroom.
