His information was 40 years old. It's much different now. It's not what one could call humane in any era. The sad fact is, there is so much greed with raising farm animals in such mass proportions that they do suffer terribly. Money and production have taken priority over such questions as "Do animals feel pain, anguish, terror, etc.?"
