Letter: Aladdin will hire back very few laid-off workers

Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997 | 2:10 a.m.

The Aladdin president is so full of it. Of the 1,500 employees he's letting go, you may expect 10-15 for "consideration," providing they are "young." Under 30 years old.

The Aladdin's had financial woes because of its location -- too far south? Does this family think anything is going to change? It's still the same location. What kind of cigarettes do they smoke? Where do they come from? How do they get to dream such "wonderful" dreams?

I predict they will wind up just like the El Rancho -- a pile of bricks. And they never hired the people they promised to rehire except for very, very few.

I suggest these people with the $1.2 billion use this money for a sure thing -- 'cause you're working on a "lost cause."

Excuse me, while I try to dream as "large" and "wealthy" as you all do.
