Man involved in traffic accident collapses and dies at the scene

Harold Robert Tracy, 68, was making a U-turn near Pagni Lane on U.S. 395 south of Reno when his 1985 Nissan pickup was rear-ended by another vehicle driven by Dale M. Barcomb, 46, also of Washoe Valley.

The accident occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the drivers were talking on the roadside when a Washoe County sheriff's deputy stopped to assist.

Both men indicated they were uninjured, and the deputy began setting out flares when Tracy collapsed without warning, the patrol said.

Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

After further investigation, Barcomb was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, and being under the influence and driving while under the influence of a controlled substance, the patrol said.

Tracy's death remained under investigation.
