Man found dead identified

A man found dead on Thanksgiving morning near Lake Mead has been identified as 20-year-old Francis "Jay" McDonough of Las Vegas.

McDonough was last seen alive at 10 p.m. Wednesday night, Metro Police said. He was seen driving a 1991 blue-green Toyota Celica with Nevada license plate 093 HLP. Police were searching for the car Monday.

A National Park Service ranger found McDonough's nude body along the side of North Shore Road about 6:20 a.m. Thursday. His hands and feet had been found and his body was partially covered in a blanket. He had suffered a head injury, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information about McDonough's activities and his murder to call homicide at 229-3521 or Secret Witness, which offers a reward up to $1,000, at 385-5555.
