The collection of 20 photographs covers a wide range of subjects, and is Potenza's first photography exhibit. His interest in photography started as a childhood hobby; recently the hobby has developed into a serious study of photographic art forms. Potenza has combined his sketch art ability with photography throughout his medical career to illustrate and enhance his lectures, seminars and case histories of patients.
Potenza, a lecturer and teacher, has lectured at universities throughout the United States, Europe and South America. He has published more than 30 scientific articles and has authored chapters in five surgical textbooks. He was honored by a national women's service organization for his successful efforts to establish medical insurance for women who need breast reconstruction following mastectomy surgery.
Potenza uses 35mm and medium format cameras. Some of his recent photos have been displayed, individually, in the waiting room of his medical offices.
