College gallery spotlights sculpture, photography
Thursday, Aug. 21, 1997 | 3:41 a.m.
Sculptor Ray Taylor of Dayton spends his afternoons and weekends in the shed behind his home, welding the shapes of lizards, geckos, cowboys and just about everything else. The eight-foot Kokopelli (an Anasazi flute player) in front of Washoe Trading Post in Washoe Valley is a Taylor creation. He sells most of his sculptures, wall hangings, candle holders, coat racks and door stops at craft fairs.
Complementing the hard edges of metal, Christopher Tsouras of Las Vegas will exhibit his black and white photographs. Tsouras is an art and photography instructor at Community College of Southern Nevada. He has exhibited widely throughout the United States and Europe. His photos are also in private and public collections.
The exhibition will show through Oct. 3. WNCC is located at 2201 W. College Parkway, Carson City.
