Itatani paintings on display

Born in Osaka, Japan, Itatani immigrated to the United States in 1970 after graduating from Kobe Jogakuin University. She earned BFA and MFA degrees from the School of Art Institute of Chicago where she has been an art professor for 18 years. The recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, Itatani exhibits nationally and internationally. Recent solo shows include New York, Tokyo, Chicago and Barcelona. Her work is represented in numerous public and private collections.
The Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush, is open from 1-9 p.m. Monday and Thursday; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday; 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 229-4631.
