Construction to begin on expanding Carlin post office

While that doesn't seem likely, the U.S. Postal Service is taking steps to begin construction on a new facility that will more than double the space of the existing post office.
"Right now we're very crowded," Rose said. "When I took over the postmaster job in 1987 there were 329 rented boxes.
"Right now there are 1,400 rented boxes. I have 68 vacant ones and they are going rapidly."
Bob MacGill, a postal service real estate specialist, said the agency has an option to purchase 1.2 acres for a new facility and plans to award a construction contract later this week.
The new post office should be completed next spring, he said.
