Police say chase leads to death of one driver

Police say the incident began about 10:30 p.m. when a dispute erupted between a motorcycle rider and two occupants of a Bronco sport utility vehicle.

The Bronco began pursuing the motorcycle and numerous shots were fired from the vehicle.

The motorcycle driver was shot in the back and taken to University Medical Center.

Police say Bronco ran off the road and crashed into a block wall.

The Bronco driver was found dead in the vehicle. The passenger was seen leaving the vehicle and hiding something. Police found a rifle nearby.

Investigators speculate that during attempts to shoot the motorcycle rider, the driver of the Bronco was accidentally shot to death by his companion.

Police say Daniel Cabrera, 48, was arrested on murder and attempted murder charges.

The name of the motorcyclist and the Bronco driver were not released pending notification of relatives.
