Low bid named for paving job

CARSON CITY -- Las Vegas Paving Corp. submitted a low bid of $2.2 million for resurfacing on Eastern Avenue from Stewart Avenue to Lake Mead Boulevard.

It was the lowest of three bids to the state Transportation Department, which had estimated the project cost at $2.5 million. The job also calls for constructing dual left turn lanes at Eastern Avenue and Bonanza Road.

Other bidders were Granite Construction of Sparks at $2.3 million and Wells Cargo of Las Vegas at $2.7 million.

A contract will be awarded later after the department studies the bids to make sure they conform to specifications.
