An alert observer's call to police has landed two adults and two teenagers in jail in connection with the invasion and robbery of a home in the eastern Las Vegas Valley.
Otis Wynn, 19, Walter Thomas, 18, and two boys ages 14 and 17, were arrested early Wednesday on numerous counts of robbery, home invasion, grand larceny auto, battery with a deadly weapon and kidnapping.
An unidentified person who was in the 6500 block of Stormy Sky Avenue, near Hollywood Boulevard and Washington Avenue, had noticed a suspicious vehicle on the street about 3:15 a.m. Wednesday and notified police after seeing four gun-toting males get out and kick down the front door of a nearby home, said Metro Police robbery Sgt. Rocky Alby.
Uniformed officers arrived minutes later and surrounded the home, some of them entering the residence. Two of the suspects broke out a window to escape, but were caught by police. Two others were found hiding in the home. Police also confiscated three shotguns and one pistol.
The vehicle the suspects were riding in, Alby said, had been reported stolen earlier on Wednesday.
The four suspects now in custody are also believed to have committed another home invasion an hour earlier in the 1400 block of Apple Court, Alby said.
Interviews with the suspects have prompted police to announce that additional arrests are expected in the near future.
