Letter: Tired of legalized plunder? Join revolt against socialism

Monday, April 21, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.

It is this system of wealth distribution -- whose modern name is socialism -- that sets citizen against citizen, group against group and faction against faction. Each will succumb to the lure of having the government take from others to supply its wants until such time as the government is invested with so much power that the rights of all to life, liberty and property are crushed.

If early Americans could create a nation devoid of socialism's deadly enticements and stifling controls, the current Americans out to be able to rebuild it. However, doing so will require rolling back the entitlement maze that is choking freedom and building an all-powerful government. It will also require a willingness on the part of Americans to expose the forces behind this drain onproductive America.

For those interested in starting this change, they might consider attending a lecture by William Norman Grigg, who is a uniquely qualified lecturer, on April 22 at the West Charleston Library and learn how they can get involved.
