Letter: Judge set the right tone for children to follow

Thursday, April 17, 1997 | 11:59 a.m.

If we have any chance at all to fix our broken society, it will be with the help of Judge Sheindlin and others like her.

The role model is, in my mind, the key to adolescent behavior, and it is extremely important for our children to respect and emulate someone who calls a spade a spade and demands personal responsibility from all.

The "do as I say, not as I do" approach is not now, nor has it ever been, an efficacious method of childbearing, and many more parents, teachers, pastors and, yes, judges must stand up and be counted before we have any hope of turning the tide of the present moral decay.
