Park officials said Thursday the body of James Eldredge, 55, of Salt Lake City was found in the wreckage but that despite excavation of the four feet of snow in the area, they had been unable to find any sign of Darla Eldredge.
The plane went down about seven miles north of the developed North Rim area of the canyon April 2. The wreckage was found Sunday.
The National Park Service said large parts of one wing and the tail section of the Cessna 210 also were missing.
However, officials said without elaboration that there was clear evidence Mrs. Eldredge was killed in the crash.
The plane was en route from Wichita, Kan., to Las Vegas, Nev. Its last known stop was for fuel in Las Vegas, N.M. Cause of the crash remained unclear.
