Vegas to show up on Times Square

New York is turning the tables on Las Vegas in its new development of the Times Square area.

A tenant announced for the bustling development zone is Vegas, a theme restaurant at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue to be operated by Creative Cafes. Executives said the restaurant would be the first of what they hope will be a chain of diners with nonstop, Las Vegas-style entertainment by singers, dancers and comedians.

Some New Yorkers have bristled at Las Vegas' duplication of landmarks from the city's skyline at the soon-to-open New York-New York hotel-casino at Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard.
