Letters: Private Property rights a key issue in this campaign
Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
Anti-private-property ideas and acts should be as scarce as hen's teeth in America, where our ancestors came and suffered to be free from royal ownership of all land, making all other men serfs to the owner of a kingdom.
Are we maintaining the right to private property or becoming serfs? Anti-private-property ideas certainly have no space in the American scene. Senate leader Trent Lott could use some encourage to bring bill S605 to the floor for a vote from all senators.
A vote on record for property rights will be a major factor in the crown of any candidate. A vote for private-property rights will even help voters decide which party candidate respects their vote. Our Sens. Reid and Bryan can be reached at (202) 224-3131.
Private-property ownership is essential to freedom.
