Lecture to deal with sexual abuse
Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
Jonathan Schooler, associate professor of psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, will give a talk Friday titled, "Recovered Memories of Childhood Sexual Abuse: What Do We Know?"
The talk, part of the UNLV Forum Lecture Series, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Classroom Building Complex, Room C-120.
Many people believe that recovered memories of childhood sexual abuse are questionable. Some even contend that the recollections are a consequence of a therapist's suggestions rather than a true incident. Schooler will review evidence on both sides of the issue.
