Thursday, Sept. 19, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
The driver of the car that struck and killed a bicyclist along Tropicana Avenue has been identified by police as William Bajadek, 43, of Stamford, Conn.
He was arrested on charges of felony drunken driving and felony hit-and-run following Tuesday's accident, shortly before 6 a.m., between Lindell Road and Jones Boulevard.
The identity of the cyclist, described only as an adult male, remained a mystery to authorities today. He had no identification papers and no one has come forward to identify the body.
The victim had been thrown 100 feet after being hit from behind by a Lincoln Town Car, which fled the scene and pulled into the parking lot of a nearby under-construction restaurant as Metro Police closed in, investigators said.
