How the Las Vegas City Council voted Wednesday to spend tax dollars:
* $400,000 to Haworth for modular furniture systems for the Development Services Center.
* $199,500 in a contract renewal with Certified Laboratories of Mountain View, Calif., for ferrous chloride to be used for odor control at the Water Pollution Control Facility.
* $150,000 to STG Enterprises, under an existing Clark County bid, for purchase and installation of carpeting for the Development Services Center.
* $77,000 to several area newspapers for advertising services. Under the bid, the Review-Journal will get $60,000, the Bloque Latino Americano will get $7,500, El Mundo will get $5,500 and the Las Vegas Sentinel Voice and the Asian Pacific Journal will each get $2,000.
* $70,000 to Mikon Construction of Las Vegas, for building speed humps and installing signs and painting road stripes in the city.
* $70,000 to VWR Scientific Products in a contract renewal for lab supplies and chemicals to be used at the Water Pollution Control Facility.
* $66,882 to Fairway Chevrolet of Las Vegas, for two sport-utility vehicles with police packages for the fire department.
* $26,970 to Quick Crete Products of Norco, Calif., for concrete picnic tables for the parks and leisure department.
* $12,628 per month for the period Sept. 8, 1996. to June 30, 1997, to Security Operations Associates for 24-hour security services at the Water Pollution Control Facility.
* $250 to R.G.C. Construction in a contract modification to provide additional insulation in the ceiling of the sun room at the Las Vegas Senior Center.
