Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
Deputies said Paul Singh, 34, of Carson City took an undisclosed amount of money Sunday night from a cashier at the Gardnerville Raley's after simulating a weapon. They were unable to locate the man following the robbery.
But about two hours later, the man was back at the store to buy alcohol. A witness recognized him and watched him walk across the street to a motel, where he was arrested as he tried to drive off.
Most of the money was recovered. No gun was found.
Singh faces charges of armed robbery, possession of stolen property and driving under the influence. He's being held under $36,500 bail.
