SAFETY CLASSES -- The Safety Consultation and Training Section of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, Division of Industrial Relations, offers safety classes at no charge.
Construction Fall Protection Awareness covers how to prevent construction-site injuries caused by falls 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at 2500 W. Washington Ave., Suite 114. The class will be repeated from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the same location.
Confined Space Awareness, an overview of the OSHA standards for entry into confined spaces such as storage tanks and tunnels, is presented 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at 2500 W. Washington Ave., Suite 114.

HOME-BUYING HELP -- The Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern Nevada offers free home-buyers' seminars 5:30-7:30 p.m. Nov. 5, 7, 12 and 14 or 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 16 and 23 at 3650 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite 30.
Topics include: benefits of home ownership, building and improving your credit history, budgeting for accumulation of funds, obtaining the best mortgage, the shopping process, negotiation and closing.

EVENING NETWORKING -- The East Side Early Birds Chapter of Business Network International hosts a mixer at 5 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Rum Runner restaurant on Tropicana Avenue at Spencer Street.

EXHIBITION EVENT -- The Center for Exhibition Industry Research and the Exhibit Designers & Producers Association present a one-day program at the Convention Center to help senior-level sales and marketing executives gain better results from their company's exhibition programs.
"Integrating and Leveraging the Power of Exhibitions: Strategies to Gain and Competitive Edge and Increase Results" will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 7.

HERO AWARDS -- The Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce will present 11 employees of Southern Nevada public service agencies with the first HERO Awards for heroism in emergency response operations.
Winners will be announced at a Nov. 13 luncheon at the Stardust hotel-casino. Awards will be presented in five categories: Medal of Valor, Medal of Honor, Unit Citation for Valor, Community Service and Meritorious Service.
Exhibits from several local emergency, rescue and public service agencies will also be available for viewing.
