Robbery may have been the motive in the shooting death of a 26-year-old man and critical injury of a 31-year-old woman in a southeast valley apartment, Metro Police said.
Police were called to the apartment by neighbors about 1 p.m. Saturday, police said.
When officers arrived at 4800 E. Tropicana Ave., near Mountain Vista Road, the apartment appeared to have been ransacked, homicide Lt. Larry Spinosa said. After police obtained a warrant to search the apartment, they discovered the victims.
The man was found in the living room near the kitchen, Sgt. Ken Hefner said. The woman was in a back bedroom, he said. She was in critical condition today at University Medical Center.
Police have not released the names of the victims.
Police are asking anyone with information on the crime to call homicide investigators at 229-3535 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
